This assembly is open to all.
A General Assembly has been called by the GSA Council to vote on holding a student strike in opposition to the tuition increases of 75% for Quebec students that the Charest government plans to impose this September.
Student Strike Against Tuition Increases
The General Assembly on March 6 will be a chance for the graduate student body to discuss, debate, and decide on what action it will take. A significant turnout is necessary to make a meaningful decision, so spread the word.

Day of Action
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students’ Association of Concordia University hereby calls for a Day of Action on 13 March 2012 in support of International Students.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students’ Association of Concordia University hereby calls an open-ended strike to begin on 19 March 2012 until such time as the government of Quebec rescinds its proposed increases to tuition and out-of-province forfaitaires;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT General Assemblies shall be convened on a regular basis to confirm the will of the members to remain on strike;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students’ Association of Concordia University shall provide aid and assistance to any and all associations and individuals who are on strike, to secure their rights and freedoms, and to ensure the integrity of their persons.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Bylaws are hereby amended by adding the following Section to Article II:
3. The General Assembly shall be the highest decision-making body of the G.S.A.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students’ Association of Concordia University hereby mandates the Executive Committee to pursue membership in the Coalition large de l’ Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (CLASSE).
