The GSA welcomes the President’s recent decision to drop all charges the administration initiated arising from our members participating in legitimate and peaceful strike actions. The decision, and recent election results, vindicates the active participation of thousands of students choosing to enforce their respective student association’s strike mandates. There does remain the issue of the professors who have charged students who were peacefully enforcing strike votes through various peaceful actions. We encourage these professors to join with the President and drop their pursuit of these charges so as to not be the holdouts who delay the rebuilding a culture of trust on-campus between staff, faculty, and students.
The GSA looks forward to continuing the battle to maintain to ensure future generations enjoy accessible education options. We also look forward to working with President Shepard and his staff in a collegial manner as we move forward together in building Concordia’s future.
