Interested in joining a running group with a cause?
Join the Radical Running Group. Each Monday morning at 9am on the SGW-Hall Building terrace (behind Reggie’s), a group will begin running around the campus area to raise awareness about preventive health care and some of the causes of cancer and disease. Running not your thing? A walking group will also leave at the same time.
The running group will last 10 weeks and lead up the 5km protest run/walk to demand that the provincial and federal governments implement tough regulations on corporations, to ban advertising targeted towards children and to clean the environment.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to change. The Cafe Depot washrooms will be open. Make sure to dress warm.
If you would like to receive the Radical Runner newsletter, email radicalrunninggroup@
gmail.com with [Newsletter] in the subject line. The newsletter has health tips, health research news and articles on corporate influence on government and how this effects the public’s health.
The Running Group is part of the Peach Ribbon and Pre-Movemver campaign. Start growing your stache earkly or wear a peach coloured-ribbon to let people know about preventive health measures and to show that you had enough with government allowing corporations get their way at the cost of our health.
