Aside from the GSA’s Conference Funding Subsidy program, there are a host of other sources for conference funding for Concordia University students. Take a look at the list below to see if you might be able to get funding from another source.
Eligibility: Graduate Students registered in Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia
Application Procedure: Applications submitted AFTER attending conference which must be held within last 3 months from the date of application. Applications are processed once per semester.

Amount: Maximum $500 per fiscal year
Eligibility: GSSP Eligible PhD students in their 2nd and 3rd year.
Application Procedure: Must apply PRIOR to attending the conference.
Amount: $1,200 per fiscal year (May 1 – April 30)
Eligibility: Students enrolled in the Ph.D. Admin. Program
Application Procedure: Students must apply for this a minimum of one month prior to the date of conference travel. A competed expense report is to be submitted to the office no later than 10 days after the conference is over.

Amount: Maximum $1000 per student
Eligibility: Student must be registered in MSc. Admin. Program. Students supervised by Faculty Research Committee members may apply. Supervisor must be a full-time faculty member including decanal team member, and must be on the university payroll during the entire grant period.
Application Procedure: No deadline. Application must be received a minimum of two (2) months prior to the date of travel.
Amount: $250 – $1000
Eligibility: All registered graduate students. Must be registered at time of presentation. Post docs- one application annually for 2 consecutive years; PhD – one application per term within first 5 years; MA – one application within first 2 years of program
Application Procedure: Apply online PRIOR to conference presentation. No deadline.
Amount: Maximum $2000
Eligibility: registered student in a PhD or MD/PhD program; Post-doctoral fellow (within 5 years of attaining their PhD); medical resident/clinical fellow (within 5 years of attaining their MD). Candidates must be attending a conference for the purpose of presenting data (paper or poster presentation) from a cancer-related project on a first-author or presenter basis.
Application Procedure: Applications will be accepted for conference dates within 6 months of the competition deadline date. Applications will not be accepted for conferences that have already taken place. There are three competitions per year. It is anticipated that up to 10 Travel Awards will be awarded in each competition (30 awards per year). Deadlines are January 15th, May 15th, September 15th.
Amount: Maximum $500
Eligibility: Must be registered graduate student presenting a poster or paper within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Concordia University. Students registered in a master’s program may receive one grant during the first two years of their MA/MSc/MTM studies (six terms beginning with the first term of admission).
PhD students may receive one grant per year for a maximum of three grants during the first four years of their doctoral studies (three during twelve terms beginning with the first term of admission).
Application Procedures: Application must be received PRIOR to attending the conference. Submit your expense report and original receipts, including original boarding passes and a copy of the conference program, to the Faculty of Arts and Science Administrative Services Office (L-AD-506) within thirty days of return from the conference.
